Zenith Zodiac 601-HDS

This rather spartan webpage will document my progress on building a Zenith Aircraft Zodiac 601-HDS. There are several options when constructing a kit from Zenithair, ranging from plans built to purchasing the entire kit of pre-fabricated parts from the factory. I have chosen the kit option, and have further decided to purchase a section at a time. This will allow me to spread my investment out, and get to work on the plane now instead of a year from now.
The particular Zodiac I am building will be of tricycle gear design (the one pictured above is a conventional gear design (tail-dragger)). At the moment, I am leaning towards a CAM-100 engine from Firewall Forward Aero Engines, Inc. There are some details on their site about the engine, or you can refer to the FAQ for more details on it. Other design considerations I am making are to use the forward tilting canopy as opposed to the side tilting canopy. Instrumentation will probably include everything needed for IFR flight, but I don't intend to fly it into known IFR conditions. I do however intend to fly it extensively at night, so having the extra instrumentation on board will certainly make pilotage much easier.
Below I have created a set of links that break down the sections of the aircraft. Obviously, portions that I have not begun work on yet will not be "active". I'm sure I'm missing some rather important information on this site, so if you have any questions this website doesn't answer, please feel free to email me. I may not answer right away but I will get back to you. I will eventually put together an FAQ.
I might be inclined to add more to this site as time permits. Which leads to the question, does anyone out there use a WAP enabled device? I'm toying with the idea of putting my daily updates up in WML also. Let me know if you'd use something like this!
